司马博康先生一直在喜达屋酒店及度假村超过25年了,目前是大中华地区人力资源副总裁。司马博康先生在中国的十三年间,他经历了喜达屋酒店从5家扩张到85家,目前领导着人力资源总监团队,这个团队的人力资源总监管理着世界级酒店包括喜来登,威斯汀,瑞吉,艾美,福朋,雅乐轩和W酒店里约30000员工。他无疑是喜达屋最有经验的开业酒店专家,在中国作为人力资源总监开业了6家酒店,在澳大利亚的3家酒店也出任了不同的人力资源的职位.在他目前的职位,除了85家运营酒店之外,他也涉及到了7家预计在2011年筹备开业的酒店,以及27家预计在2012年筹备开业的酒店项目。

司马博康先生喜欢围着上海慢跑和骑自行车。他是一个敏锐的摄影师,游历了整个亚洲和大部分中国地区,目前他计划去中国他剩下尚未游历的5个省去旅行。
Michael has been with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for over 25 years and is currently the Vice President, Human Resources, Greater China. During Michael’s thirteen years in China he has experienced the expansion of Starwood from 5 to 85 operating hotels and currently leads a team of Human Resources Directors responsible for around 30,000 associates in world class hotels including Sheraton, Westin, St Regis, Le Meridian, Four Points, Aloft, & W Hotels. He is undoubtedly the most experienced opening specialist for Starwood in China having previously opened 6 properties as Director of Human Resources and 3 in Australia in various HR roles. In his current position, in addition to the 85 operating properties he is involved in all openings in China with 7 currently in pre opening targeted to open in 2011 and 27 pre opening projects targeted to open in 2012.
Michael has been committed to developing associates potential and believes that what matters is not where you are, but how you are. His motto: People respect you, not for the knowledge you have but for what you give away. He spends much of his busy schedule sharing his immense knowledge and coaching associates in order to develop future senior leaders within the hospitality industry. He is one of Starwood’s leading trainers and believes in the philosophy of “Teaching associates to fish rather than simply giving them fish”. He is passionately committed to improving the lives of people by providing them with opportunities to realize their dreams.
Michael enjoys keeping fit through jogging and riding his bicycle around Shanghai. He is a keen photographer who has traveled extensively throughout Asia and China and he is counting down the provinces with only 5 remaining to visit.
